3. The Church leader’s wife disappeared

Scientology leader David Miscavige’s wife Shelly seemingly disappeared in 2007. She has not been seen publicly since then.

The Church denies that she is missing, and insists that she is working for the church out of the public eye, but they won’t disclose her whereabouts. Two different missing persons reports have been filed (one of them by Leah Remini) but both were later closed and classified as “unfounded” by the LAPD.

Shelly’s mother was also a Scientologist, and she was found dead of four gunshot wounds in 1985.
