12 Weird Things Scientologists Don’t Want You to Know

2. Scientologists are highly intolerant of any criticism

After Anderson Cooper did a week-long, five-part exposé about rampant violence and physical abuse in Scientology, the Church published a 95-page magazine attacking the journalist.

The magazine was the Church’s monthly “Freedom,” and it devoted an entire issue to Cooper. In eighteen different articles, the Church ripped into Cooper’s journalistic integrity and lazy reporting. Here’s an excerpt:

“…when an earthquake reduces Haiti to rubble, there he is, on site in designer jeans or cargo pants, to verify for himself that the villages were indeed reduced to rubble…Anderson Cooper has got to see it with his own two eyes while furrowing his brow to show how much he cares. But this time, Cooper refused to look. ”

They went so far as to distribute copies of the magazine outside Cooper’s place of work (CNN).

The BBC and the St. Petersburg Times have also come under Church fire for their coverage of Scientology.
