5. Operation Snow White
Talk about shady. In the 1970’s, the Church wanted to purge unfavorable records about Scientology and its founder L. Ron Hubbard, so it undertook Operation Snow White. This operation involved “a series of infiltrations and thefts from 136 government agencies, foreign embassies and consulates, as well as private organizations critical of Scientology, carried out by Church members, in more than 30 countries.”
This was one of the largest government corruptions in United States history.
