3. Adam Driver
Driver, who plays Star Wars baddie Kylo Ren, joined the Marine Corps shortly after 9/11. The event caused him to feel the need to serve his country, but after only two years he broke his sternum in a mountain-biking accident, effectively ending his military career.
Driver credits his service for giving him the confidence to pursue acting.
