Is Pluto A Planet Again? Plus, 8 Other Facts About The Solar System

7. Earth

Earth is completely unique because it is the the only astronomical object known, with certainty, to harbor life.

The Moon is Earth’s only natural satellite, and its gravitational interaction with the planet causes our ocean tides.

The continent Antarctica, at the southernmost tip of the planet, contains about 70 percent of Earth’s fresh water and 90 percent of its ice.

One more interesting fact: Gravity isn’t distributed equally across the planet!  Places with less land mass have less gravity than other spots. Hudson Bay in Canada is one of those low gravitational areas.
