
3. Uranus
Discovered in 1781, Uranus is the seventh planet from the sun.
Uranus gets its vibrant blue-green color because the planet’s ample supply of methane gas absorbs red light.
Interestingly, Uranus has seasons lasting 20+ years! This is due to the unusual fact that its equator runs at a right angle to its orbit, which means the planet essentially orbits on its side. Astronomers believe this was caused when another large object collided with Uranus, leading to the skewed orientation.

Another interesting fact: wind speeds on Uranus can reach a whopping 560 mph. That’s pretty windy.
