“The Affair” (on Showtime) is a drama/mystery series that explores the repercussions of an extramarital relationship after two people meet on vacation and continue the tryst afterward.
The show won two Golden Globes in 2015 and one (Maura Tierney for Best Supporting Actress – Series, Miniseries or Television Film) in 2016. Rotten Tomatoes says “[t]hanks to some smart, creative storytelling and spectacular performances, ‘The Affair’ is a somber, bewitching exploration of truth and desire.”
