
7. The NFL owns everything
Well, not quite. But the organization owns the licensing rights to every single team, with the exception of the Dallas Cowboys.
In 1995 Cowboy’s owner Jerry Jones tried to negotiate his own sponsorship and merchandising deals, and the NFL sued him for $300 million. Jones countersued for $750 million make the league back down, Jerry counter sued them for 750 million. The NFL settled.
BTW, the Cowboys team is valued at a league-wide high of $2,300 million.
