4. Empire Strikes Back – Luke screams

After Luke’s hand is severed by Darth Vader during their battle at Cloud City, the young Skywalker famously leaps from the platform, presumably to his death.

Luckily (or perhaps by using the force), he guides his fall into an open exhaust vent and is later rescued. In the Special Edition version of the film, Lucas added a long scream as Luke fell. Many viewers felt that this cheapened the resolve that he had just shown by bravely jumping versus being captured or, even worse, joining Vader.

The scream that Lucas dubbed in was actually taken from the Emperor’s scream at the end of Return of the Jedi, and makes for a pretty hilarious take on an iconic scene. So hilarious that it was subsequently removed for the official DVD release.
